About Me

I help writers communicate their ideas to readers clearly and effectively so their nonfiction books are ready for publishing, their academic papers are ready for submission and acceptance, and their business documents and presentations are ready to work for them. I especially enjoy working with education, parenting, business, technical, and Christian nonfiction subject matter.

Writing and teaching technical courses at IBM, homeschooling, serving on the board of a private Christian school, and doing various kinds of volunteer work have given me an excellent grounding in the logical thinking, clear communication, and attention to detail I use every day as an editor.

Having lived in several countries where English is not the primary language, I know firsthand how challenging it can be to express yourself effectively in a secondary language and am familiar with the types of issues that are common for ESL writers.

I am a member of both The Editorial Freelancers Association and ACES: The Society for Editing, and work with several style guides: The Chicago Manual of Style, APA 7, New Hart's Rules/Oxford, the Christian Writer's Manual of Style, and my clients' custom style guides.

I love to help writers polish their work so their ideas come through clearly and effectively to their readers. Let me handle the language and formatting issues so you can focus on your ideas. I'll work with you every step of the way, from copyediting to upload-ready files.
